I am trying to find out if there is something I did wrong and that these two do coexist -or- if they cannot coexist. I would have thought that the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable would not have touched ACE 12 and would have installed ACEġ3 so that both could co-exist. I do not understand why Access 2007 is clobering the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. It appears that the mini-reinstall overwrites ACE 12 (2010) with its version, ACE 12 (2007). Now when I attempt to open the database using VB.NET and ACE 12, I again get the error. The snafu happens when I run Access 2007 again.

All is good so far. As long as I do not run Access 2007, the error is corrected. Let's assume that the Access 2010 database is using features that are not available in Access 2007. I'm running Access 2013 32-bit under Win7 and had to reinstall Access 2007 to convert a program using an Access 97 MDB file. Thank you for your reply but it doesn't fully address my question.
